New Residents of the Kaluga SEZ Invest More than 15 Billion Rubles in the Production of Four Plants

On March 14, a meeting of the expert council chaired by Vladimir Popov, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region, was held. Applications from Farmatek-Kaluga LLC, Medtech Protect LLC, Nesta LLC and Biopharm-K LLC for the resident status of the Kaluga Special Economic Zone have been approved. The total investment in four projects will exceed 15 billion rubles.

The Farmatek-Kaluga project offers the construction of a modern pharmaceutical enterprise for the production of medicines. The Borovsk site of the Kaluga SEZ was selected to implement the project. The planned volume of investments is more than 10.9 billion rubles. The number of new jobs is 300. The facility is expected to be put into operation in 2024.

Medtech Protect is expected to launch manufacture of third-generation syringes. The enterprise will provide the healthcare system and Russian citizens with safe disposable self-disable syringes. The investments in the project will exceed 1.5 billion rubles. 135 jobs will be created. The launch of production at the Borovsk site of the SEZ is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.

Within the Nesta investment project, a plant for the production of building materials based on expanded perlite and ready-made house kits for individual housing construction will be built at the Lyudinovo site of the SEZ. The investments in the project will amount to 971 million rubles. Number of jobs is 81. The plant is scheduled to open at the end of 2024.

Biopharm-K will create an enterprise for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients of heparin salts. The plant will be located at the Borovsk site of the SEZ. The investment in the project in the Kaluga region is 1.7 billion rubles. It is planned to start production by the end of 2023.

According to the results of the expert council, there will be 27 residents in the Kaluga SEZ.
