Nestlé Purina PetCare announced a large-scale project to expand a pet food factory and a distribution center in the Vorsino Industrial Park, Kaluga Region. The amount of investments is 12 billion rubles.
The funds are to be allotted to expand the production of wet, all-in-one feed for cats and dogs, and enhance the storage capacity. The company plans to complete the project by mid-2023. Total funds allocated for the factory development should amount to 22 billion rubles for the period of 2020 to 2023.
The new investment project contemplates a further production of all-in-one feed for cats and dogs with the launch of two lines for the production of wet food. The distribution center will in addition be expanded with additional areas for storing products, raw materials and packaging, and infrastructure and improvement facilities put in place. As a result of the project, about 120 jobs will be created.
Nestlé Purina PetCare plant in the Kaluga Region is one of the largest investment projects of Nestlé in Russia. Since its founding and until the end of 2020, investments in the construction and development of the production site amounted to about 750 million US dollars. With the expansion of the factory in the Kaluga region, Nestlé Purina PetCare expects to meet the growing demand and strengthen its power in the Russian feed market.
