On August 12, the Digital Evolution forum was opened in Kaluga at the site of the Innovative Cultural Center. The program of the first day includes expert discussions on digitalization of priority sectors of the economy, regional digital transformation strategies, as well as personnel training for their implementation.

Digital Evolution is a unique platform for sharing experiences. The growing role of digital technologies in transforming all spheres of society and economic activity calls for such meetings. Ensuring an effective, responsible, holistic and active digital transformation requires the knowledge and experience of many stakeholders, which are government, society and business.

The Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha welcomed the forum participants with his speech: “High innovation potential has been and remains a decisive factor in the social and economic growth of the Kaluga Region. It is inextricably linked today to the digital technologies. The region strives to stay ahead here. The region is developing its own unique technologies with leading IT enterprises.” 

Forum participants took part in round tables. Experts discussed regional cases of digitalization in the regions, the use of digitalization in the healthcare sector. During the round table “Development of Regional Digital Transformation Strategies – Approaches and Best Practices,” Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Oleg Kachanov said that an increase in the share of mass electronic services is one of the significant components of digital transformation. 

Pavel Teplov, Mercator Holding Innovation Director, was one of the experts discussing the use of aerospace and geoinformation technologies. The company is a resident of the Kaluga-Yug Industrial Park. “We have implemented a project that was directly related to digitalization,” the speaker shared his experience. “The industry responded positively. With the help of the implemented software, we obtained accurate statistical data on the operation of equipment, and comparative analytics. As a result, there is an explosive demand for digital platforms that have been later used in various industries. The system is appreciated by large customers. These days, we have 12 thousand connection objects with the digitized area of half a million square kilometers. The requirements for the quality of our data have increased. The industry uses our implementations to make reforms, and Kaluga has already implemented them.”

The business program of the forum included signing of cooperation agreements. Agreements were reached on cooperation with the Belgorod and Saratov regions, software development companies. An agreement was also signed by Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovski and Innopolis University from Tatarstan.

The exhibition presents best practices of health care and public safety industry, labor protection, operational excellence, financial and economic management. 

The forum was attended by the representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the Russian Federation, leading experts on information technologies, and public figures.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation jointly with the Government of the Kaluga Region.
