Ruselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation and Kaluga International Airport put the latest Zenit Ground Infrastructure Monitoring System into test operation.

As part of Ruselectronics, the project is being implemented by the Kaluga Research Institute of Telemechanical Devices (part of the Vega Concern).

The hardware and software combines several monitoring, control and analytics modules. It allows for real-time locating passenger, utility and construction equipment, its condition and fuel level, and determining the number of passengers in the cabin, the amount of luggage on the tractor or materials in the body.
Zenit includes mobile modules, a server, operator workstations, IP cameras and smartphones or mobile terminals software. With WiMAX and Wi-Fi modems, information from built-in navigation beacons and mobile modules is transmitted to the server, where it is processed and automatically loaded onto an interactive map. This allows operators for locating and tracking current status of all facilities.

The software installed on the server analyzes the collected information and, when critical data is received, generates scripts to prevent accidents or emergency situations. Zenit operates within a radius of up to 20 km without any cellular telephone access, which makes it relevant for use in long-distance facilities with a low level of cellular coverage.
