On October 26, Vladislav Shapsha, Governor of the region, held a working meeting with Alexander Vedrov, Deputy General Director of Almaz–Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation, Joint Stock Company. During the meeting, the Kaluga Region and the corporation were discussed the prospects for their cooperation.

Almaz-Antey became the first large holding company established in 2002 within the Federal Target Program “Reforming and Developing the Defense Industrial Complex.” It includes now more than sixty enterprises and research and production associations from eighteen regions of the country. They are developing and producing anti-aircraft missile systems, reconnaissance radars and automated control systems of main types. While diversifying its production, Almaz–Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation, Joint Stock Company is also focused on developing and producing dual-use and civilian industry products. Including radar facilities and automation equipment for CAA air traffic control, telecommunications and transport equipment, medical technology, medical devices and equipment for Housing and Utility Sector.
