Kaluga Region and the Association of Russian Innovative Regions will hold the Forum “Kaluga 650: Partnership for Development”

On June 28-30 Kaluga city will host the International Economic Forum “Kaluga 650: Partnership for Development”. Representatives of federal and regional authorities, state corporations, development institutions, international and Russian companies, representatives of the business community, leading experts and analysts will meet on one platform. The event organizers are the Government of the Kaluga Region and the Association of Russian Innovative Regions.

Participants of the business event will discuss the relevant issues of transformation of economic processes. Simultaneously with the forum, the 16th Conference of the Partner Cities of Russia and Germany will take place, which is an important part of bilateral relations between Russia and Germany.

The Forum is held in the year of the 650th Anniversary of Kaluga, so the program schedule includes numerous cultural events.

Kaluga Region is one of the most economically developed regions of Russia. For several years, it has been a leader in the growth rate of industry, real incomes of the population, and the level of technologies being implemented.

223 companies from more than 30 countries are implementing their projects in the Kaluga Region. These are both the world's largest concerns and small family companies. They all recognize that the Kaluga Region is one of the best entry points for business among the Russian regions.

Over 10 industrial clusters are being developed in the Kaluga Region, including such spheres as: automotive, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, agri-food, construction and composite materials, transport and logistics, educational, tourism, IT-technologies, metalworking, etc. Kaluga Region hosts the production of about 12% of all cars manufactured in Russia, 38% of motor engines, 36% of TV-sets and 100% of all TV-sets and monitors of Samsung brand. The enterprises of the Kaluga Region produce 34% of all Russian mainline electric locomotives.

The success in the economy of the Kaluga Region is the result of a policy to create comfortable conditions for attracting investments and business development. Improvement of the business climate is one of the priority tasks for regional authorities.
